This afternoon it seems the ISS was doing some tests with SSTV on the 145.800 downlink at 15:30z I heard a strong carrier popup then half an image was sent
After this image there was a very strong constant carrier followed by a CW ID and another image.
The empty carrier was then repeated for a while then the CW ID came back and I received the final image before it was out of range.
Lets hope this is a sign that more activity from the ISS might happen.
Nicely done, Peter! That seems to be a realtime imagery of Moscow on a south-east – north-west pass of the ISS above the city.
Nice work Peter! Seems like Moscow on overhead pass. Were you recording an audio of the pass for later decoding or just happened to be on the frequency?
Paul, I think you’re right about it it being over moscow. This was actually a live decode using the IC-910 didn’t have time to quickly plug the Funcube Dongle Pro Plus in!
I’ve not listened out for the ISS for a while now. Maybe I should tune up the radio and leave it on record when I’m not using it and see what I get.
UrTheCast (pronounced Earth Cast) is something I’m waiting on with keen interest. http://www.urthecast.com/
I’m a big space, astronomy and satellite chaser. Just a shame I don’t have half the equipment I’d really like to have.
