I’ve never been too happy with the validation process of LoTW in some respects I think its a bit over the top with security, it really doesn’t need to be more secure then my bank account but I’ve decided to jump through the hoops and join the masses.
I’m not keen about sending my documents so I’ve just handed them in at the RSGB Convention, hopefully they’ll respect them and keep me safe from ID Fraud.
I must say there is something I don’t like about the whole LoTW and other on line logging systems. It feels a bit like letting the world look through my dirty underwear. I am not sure why as most of my life is an open book to anyone on line or who listens on the local 70cms and 2m frequencies I frequent.
I don’t mind the whole online logging system, I even prefer it being able to log something anywhere on anything is a good idea to me, but LoTW & eQSL etc don’t allow that sort of thing there just a way of confirming a contact why that needs encryption keys is beyond me.
Least with eQSL its just a simple task of signing up and uploading a gif of the license.
