I was doing my usual trawl around the Internet on Friday afternoon and noticed that Yaesu had issued a new firmware update for the Yaesu FT950 which has been in the shack for just over a year and 1 week. There had been some noticeable improvements too with them including the EDSP technology found in the FTdx9000, Improved DNR, DNF, AFC, and lots more.

At first I couldn’t find out were to download the update from, one UK site was saying contact them for more information but after a quick look at Yaesu’s own website soon found the relevant files. I decided to do the update Saturday afternoon was a little nervous that I’d brick a £1,000 piece of technology but luckily it worked out fine.

On first turning on the rig there was noticable improvemnts with signals and DSP seems to function a lot better too, just need a new manual to explain a few of the changes but I expect that will come soon no doubt.
