The weekend is now history and one of the best contests is just fond memories. Although this year I wasn’t apart of any M/* team due to the fact I’ve just under gone surgery on my eye, and I had a University assignment to start/complete as we only got two weeks to complete it. I did manage to put in around four hours operating time S&P.
Station equipment was the usual Kenwood TS-570DG(E) and a 80m Special Windom, the setup worked reasonably well although right at the start of the contest the Heil Proset decided it was going to give up, and most of the time didn’t trigger the vox or the audio sounded messed up, I’ll be replacing this at the Kempton Radio Rally this coming Sunday!. So most of the QSO’s were completed using the voice keyer built into Win-Test which was superb yet again!
Sadly only had a couple of QSOs on 80m as the windom really doesn’t preform that well, need to start thinking about a different antenna to fit into such a limited size garden in central Oxford.
